New site to raise awareness of Coeliac disease and provide a platform for information on gluten-free products and medical research into the condition.
ALICANTE, SPAIN, December 11, 2010 /Bloggin and Social Media PR News/ -- The Gluten Free Times website has been launched to provide Coeliacs or those following a gluten free diet a place to read reviews of new products, buy cook books and read/submit articles on Coeliac Disease and other related medical issues and to help raise awareness of the condition.
Coeliac Disease is a medical condition that could affect as many as 1 in 100 people in the UK but most people probably don't know that they have it as it is often misdiagnosed as other illnesses such as Crohn's disease or irritable bowel syndrome, but with a simple blood test you can tell whether or not your symptoms are attributed to this gluten allergy and now there is even a simple
home test kit for Coeliac disease so this misdiagnosis shouldn't be made any more.
A gluten-free diet isn't a fad, well not for Coeliacs who must follow a strict gluten excluded diet to manage the symptoms, and thankfully many food suppliers are recognising this and it is now much easier to buy foods, even things like gluten-free wedding cakes and gluten free Christmas hampers making life with Coeliac disease much easier and normal.
Raising awareness is very important to ensure that everyone who has the condition is diagnosed correctly and as quickly as possible as the long term effects without treatment can be life threatening!
