ChefShauniece.com Features Double Contest, Enhances Subscriber Interaction
Fourteen year-old Shauniece Frazier is providing subscribers to her blog and YouTube channel with a chance to win prizes she's saved her allowance to buy. "I just love the feeling that comes from giving things away," says Frazier.
LOS ANGELES, CA, May 08, 2010 /Bloggin and Social Media PR News/ -- Teen chef Shauniece Frazier launched her third and fourth contest giveaways May 5, offering visitors to her blog (www.ChefShauniece.com) a $25 gift card to Crate & Barrel; she's also offering subscribers to her video cooking series, Cooking for Kids, on YouTube (http://www.youtube.com/user/ShaunieceCooks) a 6-piece set of Lock & Lock food storage containers. The contests run until May 12, when two winners - one from each venue - will be randomly selected.
To enter the Crate & Barrel gift card contest, guests must subscribe to Frazier's Cooking for Kids channel on YouTube (http://www.youtube.com/user/ShaunieceCooks), "favorite" one of her cooking videos, and leave a comment describing what they'd like to buy from Crate & Barrel.
Frazier's fourth contest will bring one of her lucky blog readers a 6-piece set of Lock & Lock food storage containers; readers must simply subscribe and leave a comment about what food makes great leftovers.
ChefShauniece.com's last two giveaways were an astounding success. "I gave away a set of two Bash and Chops and a three-cup Kitchen Aid food processor," said Frazier, "and the winners were chosen the same way."
To provide prizes for her popular giveaways, Frazier saves up her weekly allowance. "I just love the feeling that comes from giving things away," says Frazier. ChefShauniece.com's readers and Cooking for Kids YouTube subscribers love the interaction level she provides, and her giveaways spark insightful conversations through her comment suggestions.
Frazier has been zipping around the kitchen for nearly six years - she got her start at the age of nine, when her mother was in a near-fatal car crash; she had to learn, because her mom wasn't able to navigate the kitchen because of severe injuries.
Although she learned her way around the kitchen out of necessity, Frazier developed a passion for cuisine - now, her favorite place in the house is the kitchen.
Frazier's dream is to teach kids across the world how to be comfortable enough in the kitchen to experiment with new recipes, handle cooking equipment and prepare meals for their families. Frazier is gearing up to attend Le Cordon Bleu, one of the world's finest culinary and hospitality schools.
"I want to teach kids to cook because I feel that if they cook healthier they'll make wiser decisions in the future about what they eat," says Frazier, noting that when kids learn what goes into the food they prepare, they're more likely to pay attention to the ingredients of foods they haven't prepared.
ChefShauniece.com is Frazier's way of instructing kids (and adults, in many cases) in an easy-to-follow, step-by-step format; she unveiled her Cooking for Kids video series on YouTube in April and immediately received an avalanche of subscribers.
"I love your recipes and your bubbly attitude," raves one subscriber. "You're doing a great thing and inspiring other people to get in the kitchen and cook their own healthy meals... keep up the great work!"
Frazier is touched by comments like these; she says, "I feel so satisfied, so blessed and so happy."
Visitors to ChefShauniece.com can win a six-piece set of Lock & Lock food storage containers by subscribing and leaving a comment on the popular blog about what foods make the best leftovers. YouTube subscribers can enter the Crate & Barrel $25 gift card giveaway by subscribing to Frazier's channel, ShaunieceCooks, adding one of her Cooking for Kids videos to their favorite list and leaving a comment on what purchase they'd like to make if they win the gift card.
The contests end Wednesday, May 12, 2010; winners will be selected randomly from each pool of entrants. Frazier's fans may enter each contest once as long as they meet each of the entry requirements.
"All people have to do is subscribe, 'favorite' one of my videos and comment, or subscribe and leave a comment on my blog - it's that easy," says Frazier. Everyone is welcome to participate - the contest is open to all readers and subscribers.
As always, Frazier encourages kids to get in the kitchen and experiment. She blogs and works on her Cooking for Kids series as often as she can between homework and spending time with her family.
